Sunrise Track is located in the Ruahine Ranges in Hawke’s Bay. It is a family friendly track which is pretty safe in most weather conditions. This is an easy walk on a well maintained track. The walk is almost entirely up-hill and will take about 2 – 3 hours or about 5 hours return. I’m sure some super-fit people could reach the hut in an hour if so inclined!
The mountains in Bali are very picturesque with lush forest, clean villages and very friendly people. The waterfalls are wonderful and most are very accessible. Don’t forget to take your swimwear… nothing beats swimming under a waterfall!
Kuang Si Waterfall is simply stunning. The turquoise water is at centerstage and when you first see it, it momentarily blinds you to anything else. It is blue! Really blue, not brown, not clear… but blue. I don’t know what it is, but swimming in blue water somehow makes the experience all the more special. It’s true! You don’t see the advertising companies showing you photos of the windy overcast days on the Great Barrier Reef… but believe me they happen!
